To participate in one of our join.mcguirewoods.com Webex meetings from your Mac computer for audio, video or web conferences, you will be prompted to download the Webex Add-on. This will occur only once the first time you try to join a meeting on our internal Webex platform – note that for Cisco cloud hosted mcguirewoods.webex.com meetings, no action is needed. Follow the instructions below for a superior quality conferencing experience.
macOS Prior to Catalina (Older Systems)
- Click the link you were provided to join the audio / video / web conference. You will be taken to a Webex page. Click Join Meeting.
- The first time you join a Webex meeting from an Apple computer, you will be prompted to download the add-on. Click Download when prompted.
- Double-click Cisco_WebEx_Add-On.dmg.
- Double-click the Install Cisco Webex Add-on.
- Click Open.
- After the installation is completed, click Join Meeting.
If you have difficulty joining the meeting in Safari, goto Preferences > Security, then check Allow plugins.

'Install Cisco Webex Add-On' can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. - From the desktop, click System Preferences.
- Click Security & Privacy.
- From the General tab, click Open Anyway.
- Click Open, Okay and then Open again.
- Check the box next to Webex Meetings.
- Click Open System Preferences.
- Click the lock to allow changes to the settings.
You will now be prompted to allow Cisco Webex Meetings to access several security features.
NOTE: the following may appear in a different order:- Check the box next to Cisco Webex Start.
- Check the box next to Cisco Webex Meetings. If prompted, click Quit Now.
- If prompted for access to the camera, click OK.
- After the installation is completed, click Join Meeting.
Download Webex On Mac
Go to the Campus Software Library or Cisco Webex Meetings site to get the Webex Meetings Desktop App for Mac OS installation file. Navigate to where the downloaded file was placed and double click the file. A drive will appear on your desktop named 'Webex Meeting Center.pkg'.
