I cannot get the client to run on Mac OS X.

Filezilla client 3.5.3 (intel)I have deleted an old preference file and an old .filezilla settings folder from user directory. There was a very old version that was running on this machine, circa 2009.
Running the app as an Admin user.
Manually added permissions to app and contents of app package from Get Info (have not changed any permissions using chmod from terminal console.
Ideas?
